Refugee & Asylum Seeker Support Services
Description
BRMC welcomes refugees and people seeking asylum. We offer volunteering opportunities, referrals for employment and training, information links to services, as well as fundraising for critical support at the Ballarat Welcome Centre.
Eligible migrants are also assisted through our Settlement Services Program.
Activities
Ballarat Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Network (BRASSN) meet monthly at 1pm on the first Monday of each month at the Ballarat Welcome Centre. This group plans support, social engagement, financial support and mentoring through community partners.

Description
The Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) is an interpreting service provided by the Department of Home Affairs for people who do not speak English and for agencies and businesses that need to communicate with their non-English speaking clients.
TIS National has:
more than 50 years' experience in language services
access to more than 3000 contracted interpreters across Australia
access to interpreters speaking more than 160 languages.

ATIS automated voice-prompted immediate phone interpreting.
Pre-booked phone interpreting.

Illegal Maritime Arrival (IMA) interpreting.

Description
99.9 Voice FM has a great diversity of programs, including programs in the following languages; Greek, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Filipino, German and Thai and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese).
